Macaronight
Macaronight is an European project that is part of the European Researchers' Night, with the aim of bringing researchers from Macaronesia closer to citizens, especially the younger generations. The initiative aims to raise awareness of the work of scientists, the benefits they bring to society and the direct impact of their discoveries on everyday life.
On September 27, in partnership with Expolab, we were present at the Pavilhão do Mar, during the Researchers' Night, with a proposal focused on sharing knowledge about soil and its immediate needs at this time, in São Miguel, and in other parts of the world. In recent years, our work has led us to understand and deeply value the importance of preserving and caring for nature, with special attention to soil.
In this context, we highlight our role as agents of the ecosystem, which can easily create a positive impact through sustainable practices and responsible soil management techniques. During the event, we carried out practical experiments and promoted enriching dialogues with the public, planting a regenerative seed. Our hope is that this seed will inspire new ways of relating to the land, full of possibilities for a more sustainable future.
